National Capital Fiat Club Event
August 23, 2009 - Raduno Cinquecenti

Sunday August 23 saw several classic FIAT 500's (Cinquecento's) join together for a scenic drive down the banks of the Potomac River. What started out as a "hey, we should meet for lunch" turned into what we hope is going to become an annual event among Fiat 500 owners in the area.

After meeting at the ClemyJontri Children's Park in McLean, VA, six of the cars (followed by two other 500-owners) toured the George Washington Parkway thru Arlington, Olde Town Alexandria, and down thru the serene, oak-lined Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy, circling past FT Belvoir then into Lorton Station to "Pane e' Vino" Restaurant where they met up with Chef Antonino di Nicola and his green 500L.

Immediately, restaurant-goers and pedestrians filled the street to look at the unique display of Fiats and to talk to the owners of the cars. After about a half hour of picture taking and swapping stories about the cars and Fiats in general, the group went inside to gorge on the generous and well-appointed brunch buffet prepared by Chef Antonino

In the 2-week process of getting this together, event organizer and drive leader Mark Santaw discovered ten 500 owners in the National Capital Region, and eight showed up with roadworthy chariots for the Raduno. An amazing sight both on the Parkways and at the restaurant!
